Time to dust off the cobwebs and get ready for some bassin....Mille Lacs style!

Scouted the lake a couple times this week in preparation on the all out blitz that Mille Lacs will get this week. Here's what I found out:

Water Levels: 1252.23 about a foot above last years opener. The lake level is on the high side.

Water Temps: Walleye opener was 52 degrees...this week it has warmed to 54 degrees.

Water Clearity: visibility to about 5 feet. Wind blown sandy areas is stained.

What the fish are doing? Ill tell you more after the opener, but if I were to guess. Strong pre spawn conditions, expect to see many fish moving shallow feeding heavy in preparation of the spawn which should begin to happen once h2o temps get around 58.

If you fish the big pond this week....how about a post on this forum...Im sure our readers would love to hear your comments and reports.
