    Default Lunker Report for 5/19/11

The water temperatures on the Eagle River Chain are 55 to 57 degrees depending on the sunshine that day. The weeds are starting to come on nicely with walleyes using both new cabbage and coontail. Most of the fish are being caught in 3 to 5 feet with a 1/16th oz jig and minnow combo. The speed of the presentation is crucial for maximum strikes on some days. Today we boated 30 fish in a combination of walleye, northern pike and even a largemouth bass.

Everyday should get better now, so come on up!

Will be arriving May 28, can't wait. Plan on fishing for anything that is biting - love to catch walleye, and would really love a day of crappie fishing.

Default Great Weekend at Weeds and Walleye

    Ranger Rick,

The family and I had a great time at Weeds and Walleye! We landed some BIG fish and I'm sure the techniques you taught us will help in years to come. That muskie that got away still haunts me but maybe that will just get me up there for Wallhanger soon!

    Thanks again,
    Ryan
