The second weekend of May proved to be totally unlike the opener....strong winds and a major cold front made fishing a challenge this weekend.

The bite has been very good all week until this cold snap happened. Actually water temps dropped 5 degrees since Thursday evening.

Water temps are 43-44 on the largest, deepest lakes to 52-55 on the smallest lakes that are protected....

I would say that we are 2-3 weeks behind normal conditions right now. I will be out this week filming and guiding, so I will have a very accurate report on everything(not muskies) by Thursday...

Jigs with redtails, fatheads and the best for walleyes....some crappies are being caught in the shallows, however remember they don't spawn until low 60's...

Good Luck!
