Default Fishing Report by Garry Allen 4/12/2011

I had Garry (dad) write the fishing report, since I was out of town all weekend with my youth bowlers.

Fishing in the Chamberlain area has been excellent. Walleye are averaging 1 to 3 pounds, several in the 4 and 5 lb range are being caught. Kiowa Area, Crow Creek and the Dam are the best spots. I was fishing in the crow creek area with a jig and minnow a couple of days ago in 30-32 feet of water. We caught our limit of 16-20 inch walleyes. Almost all of the groups staying at the Hillside are going back with their limits. The groups have been working and socializing together to help each other catch their limits. 5 boats staying today all caught their limits.

Give us a call if you need a room.

    Default Weather is a wildcard!!

The only issue here is the weather. YOu can really catch them one day, and because of wind, cold front, or whatever change mother nature can bring will turn off your bite.

Always take that into account this time of year.

    Default water temps-spawn

just wondering what the water temps are running and whether or not the spawn has started. are many fish being caught shallow on the rocks/shale yet? thanks

    Default spawn

Seems that the spawn is just starting. The shocker boats from the Game Fish and Parks had a very good night last Monday. Still have not heard of any consistency from casting to shore yet. That will turn on any day. Suface temp is still 38-41 depending on where you are at.

The bite has been scattered. Went fishing with Curt Friday, caught all fish in 14-16 feet of water. Guided yesterday (limit) caught all fish deeper than 30. Check out the picture on our photos page and facebook.
