I managed to get some ice time this weekend. We went out for a few hours in the afternoon. We caught many fish but they were all running on the small side. Our goal was to go out and catch a few gills and perch. we found fish just about everywhere we went from deep to shallow. The best, most consistent bite was in about 7-10 feet of water close to the weeds. There we did run into some nicer gills but you had to weed through the small ones. After the last snow it has put an insulator on the lakes. we still had 20" of solid ice. I am starting to wonder if we will ever get rid of it. We may have to postpone the opener until June!!! Good luck as the weather warms the fishing will pick up. The ice conditions will also change. I was not on a flowage, I have heard reports of trucks and ATV's going through on flowages. They have an increasing current in the spring and will shed the ice faster especially in channel areas. Be careful !!

Good Fishing,
