I would think the lake would be almost ice free from the warm weather and sunshine the past 3 days. The only remaining ice on the lake may be in areas that are completely shaded by bluffs or trees. All of the lakes, ponds, and streams in Carbondale were melted by yesterday afternoon. Fishing will begin soon....
Lake is almost completely ice free. Paul Ice and the marina ramps are both open. Warmest water was in the water treatment plant area, Main lake 38-treatment plant cove 41.
Found 45.5 degree water and caught some bass, most of main basin was around 42 degrees. How did everyone else do?
Water temps were 46 in Pail Ice, 42 Main Basin and 48 in Johnson. Landed a 30, 35 and 37; lost one and had a follow. Water is extremely clear in Paul ice and main lake. There is about 10" visibility in Johnson, which in my book, is pretty good. Lake is still way down. Good luck!
