Ice fishing continues to be one of the most "streaky" seasons that I have ever seen.....inconsistant, consistant, shallow, deep....whatever.

I do believe there is some type of connection between early season slush and a slow bite for the winter...also, the lakes haven't been this high for a while(from all the rain in summer and fall)...don't know why, just trying to figure something out here.

Perch have been biting deep, with some a decent catch Friday with my buds from high school.....the lunker pike evaded the Kufmiester again...(actually I just love torturing him)...

Walleyes bite one day and then shut down the next....deep gravel bars have been best, with some sandgrass bites showing up from time to time.

The two biggest walleyes in the Big St. Tourney this weekend came from 6' of water...go figure...just what I mean.

With this being the last day of January, I hope February is much more consistant...or at least a little consistant...

Good Luck!
