    Default Lac Sault Dore/Soo Lake

After the fall draw down, how do you think Soo lake will bounce back next year, hopefully with less milfoil?

This is the 3rd time that they have drawn soo lake down the first 2 times were 3 to 4 feet this time 6 feet. The first two times it killed the lake, there were a few bass being caught the first year after but everything else was tough. It took almost 10 years for the bluegill and crappie to come back to a good fishable population. The walleye never really did recover we started getting a few more the last couple of years. The fishing out there the last 3 years was some of the best since the last drawdown of the early 90's. Fishing the weeds was tough but if you stuck to it and learned how to do it the fish were there. Just think of all the larve, bugs and other things that the fish eat that is gone because it froze solid this winter. How can that be good for any fish population? I will admit that the lake was a mess with weeds but as far as bouncing back I think the weeds will grow back before the fishing recovers.
