Been on the ice a couple of times. Earlier we had a lot of slush pockets on the ice, making it hard to travel. Over time these pockets have hardened and the ice conditions have improved. As of Saturday we had about 10 or so inches of ice in the backwaters of the river.

Fishing had been tough. Finding fish and getting them to respond has been good but the ones were catching are mostly small, occasionally catching a keeper. Everything from crappies, white bass, blue gills and perch. Jigging has been our best tactic with tip-downs getting some action. All depths have been explored from 4 ft to 10 ft.

Use caution if your going out and good luck.
