Petenwell Flowage got another boost this past Friday November 12, 2010. As J. Schillinger mentioned in the above post the Consolidated Musky Club along with said sponsors were able to raise a lot of money to purchase some Leech Lake strain muskies. And Friday was the day we place them in the river section of the flowage.
We had about 20 people consisting of club members and about 10 member of our local DNR. Justine Hasz and her team we on hand to record sizes of each fish. All fish received two markings of pink dye under the jaw and the larger fish received a PIT tag. We had two boats on scene and they place about 200 fish in different locations in the river. Our last 100 plus fish were place at the Jim Freeman Memorial Landing.
As Jason said, these fish were place into Petenwell Flowage in memory of a “great man"...Jim Freeman. Jim, you may be gone, but you are NOT forgotten. Thank you for all you have done for these waters.
A sincere “thank you” goes out to the Consolidated Musky Club, Juneau and Adams counties for their dedicated pursuit in managing the mighty Petenwell Flowage. To Justine and Tom our local fisheries biologist and their team, we’d like to say “thank you”, we are very appreciative for your dedication to our waters.

Thanks so much for your help Todd, and for giving the dedication in my absence. Great photos too!! The flowage, the club, local Musky anglers, and Jim, are all smiling today.
