    Default Last Week

    Hello all!

I was up for my last trip to the cabin this year and fished the east fork of the chip for 4 days. Water temps started at 55 degrees on Friday, but I saw 60 degree surface temps on Monday....crazy weather...too nice.

Fishing was slow, but I picked up 4 with the biggest at 38". No real pattern to the baits as I caught 1 on a jackpot (top water in October!), 1 on a 6" squirrely jack, 1 one a thumper tail jig, and one on a sucker (I was dragging suckers around most of the time, but they were pretty big ones...the one fish I did get was on a smaller sucker).

I was fishing alone on Monday when one ate the Jake and while I was getting it out of the net the sucker bobber went screaming by me. I waited until it was going away and slammed the hooks home. I somehow managed to get the fish into the net with the other musky still it it!! Very cool. I will try to post the pictures.

    Dan
