The Eagle River and Three Lakes Chain are at the bottom of the transition period as of yesterday(Saturday). Water temperatures were at 57 to 56 degees on most lakes. It was a cold windy day with winds out of the north. Getting of the lake at 5:00pm. there were flickers of my temp gauge hitting 55 degrees. This is the bottom of the transition period temps. Once consistant 54 and 53 temps are attained the bite on live bait will accelerate greatly. The 40"s are golden for setting the hook!

Last night the temps were in the 20's and had a hard frost. We should have lost a degree last night. In search of 54 degrees today!

Today I'm going to find a very shallow lake with very little deep water in hopes of getting my clients some good action.

Stay Tuned,
