Fishing has been slow recently. Fishing has continued to be tough ever since the prolonged stretch of strong south wind that ended about a week ago. The weather has remained uncooperative, yet fishing has been tough even on good weather days. There's a dearth of good, active, patternable muskies and the action lately has been limited to mid-size fish of the random, hit-or-miss type, nothing resembling a reliable and consistent pattern. What's most surprising has been the lack of action on rocks, especially shallow rock, which is normally very productive this time of year. Mille Lacs now. It's at least comforting to hear that Vermilion has been really slow and fishing is generally tough statewide.

The surface temperature has been 63-65, depending on the time of day and location. The water clarity is still relatively poor over the whole lake. All the strong wind for the past couple weeks has the lake roiled up and the water has a brownish tint.

That's muskie fishing I guess.
