Can anyone tell me how far north channel cats are in the wisconsin river? I caught them in Wausau as a kid in the 80's. Have they moved north at all? Thanks.

I cought a 21 pound catfish about 5 years ago fishing below Grandmother Dam on a jig and a minnow walleye fishing. What a great fight!
21 LBS, WOW. Was that a channel cat?
I have fished below Grandmother, from shore on the west side. The water really rips through there after it comes out of the dam. I only caught bullheads (as usual) and I was suprised they were in such fast water. I can see how cats would get big in there - lots of bullhead for food.
Anyone else have a cat report from the Tom area? post up!
a few years ago i was fishing at kings dam and there was about a 10lb channel cat dead on the shore that someone must have caught
Here is a picture of that catfish down the river.
Nice catch Mullin! I bet your thought you had a world-record 'eye after setting the hook. What a healthy looking fish.
I released him, so hopefully he is still there.
