Thread: Knot Question

    Default Knot Question

    Herbie,
I know that you are recommending doubling up the last four feet or so of the braided line with a surgeon's knot in order to increase the durability of that last, abused part of the line when a big fish is hooked. What knot do you use to attach that doubled line to the fluorocarbon or leader? When I tie a doubled 80 pound braided line to 130 lb fluorocarbon, a slim beauty isn't very slim or beautiful, and neither is a double uni. How do you do it?

when i tie any 130 # it isn't pretty thats why i always used 80-100# but now that i use the double line i just use custom tied stealth leaders around 24" and 1 think they are 100# with a snap and a swivel.

So, you just do a loop to loop with the swivel on the leader? Thanks. You make me feel better about my knot tying skills or lack thereof.
