Went blueberry picking yesterday. After an hour of sweating, slapping skeeters and bending at the waist for berries no more than 2 inches off the ground. That scene from the movie Steel Magnolias comes to mind. Why do southern women grow tomatoes? It was "why do northern women pick blueberries". The answer seems to be simply, because we do. The berries are really good again this year.
