Default Lake of the Woods Update - July 10/10

Water temperatures seem to have finally stabilized with main lake temps between 66 - 68 and the shallower areas 70 - 73. The active muskies are heavily weed oriented in areas of clean cabbage. The "junk weeds" and weed choked bays seemed pretty void of life as is typical for this time of year. The rocks are holding fish, but all we got were slow follows. Although we had follows on topwater and bucktails, gliders received most of the action. This fish ate a Hellhound in the figure 8 after missing the bait a few times during the retrieve.

Walleye fishing remains unbelievable! While fishing with guests Trevor and Fred Hill, split the day half for muskies and half for walleye. We concentrated on the humps and boated somewhere between 30 - 40 fish, including a healthy 27"er landed by Fred. There were also some nice pike, smallmouth, and perch caught. Fred hooked into what seemed like an even bigger walleye but after a few impressive runs and headshakes she outplayed us. The depth varied with the sunlight but we caught fish from 15 - 30'. Both were new to Lindy Rigging and did a great job! Thanks for the great time in the boat and I'll put up the picture of the 27"er up as soon as I get it!
