Fishing has been very good here the past ten days or so. Walleyes are in the weeds and being taken on small jigs and leeches or crawlers, mornings are the better time right now. I do a lot of walleye and smallmouth fishing on the Chippewa Flowage near Hayward and it's been either boom or bust over their this summer. We've had equal numbers of days that included limits of walleyes and days where it was tough just to get a couple of eaters. Thankfully the pike, bass and panfish have been biting well in the mean time when walleyes were slow.

Muskys have been good too, soft plastics on tough days and bucktails on days when they are active have been working for us in my boat. Lots of fish in the 32 to 38 inch range so far, the big ones will come yet!

Good luck and good fishing,
Jim Stroede
