Anvil and Kentuck lake

Any pointers of anyone that has fished these lakes recently? I have not fished the Eagle River area but am staying on Anvil lake. Walleye and Crappie are the main fish I go for. Thanks!

Spent last week (6/26-7/3) at Anvil on a family vacation. Fishing was pretty good until late in the week when it got hot and the holiday revelers arrived. We have been going to Anvil for about 5 years now and I have never figured out the walleye, although a week isn't much time. I usually catch them by accident fishing for smallmouth. The best luck we have is fishing for crappie. The best baits are a small jig and twister or slip bobber and minnow. They are usually suspended in 10-12 foot of water adjacent to a crib. The crappie were on fire last Wed. afternoon, my wife and kids were catching so many all I did was unhook fish and rebait hooks. Great fun. Kept enough for a fish fry and released the rest. Biggest was 13 inches, but most were in the 10 inch range.
