Thread: Fishing Report

    Default Fishing Report

The fishing in Vilas and Oneida counties has remain very good despite the up and down weather patterns. The water temps continue to fluxuate on a daily basis, but the most consistant patterns remains in the weeds accross the area. Fishing the edges to right up in the weeds depending on the day has been the best. Real light 1/16oz or even 1/32 jigs tipped with a leech or minnow have been the ticket. Often times the afternoon bites have been better than the morning bites because of the mayflys that continue to hatch accross the area. I have noticed on some lakes the mayflys are in the hex stage and finishing, and others they are just getting going depending on water temps. Looks like rain most of the weekend which mean the water temps wont rise to much and fishing should continue to remain stable as long as we don't get too much cold air mixed in.
