The Chain looks pretty good right now. Mid 70's water temps and the weeds on Wilson look good. There is a lot of fishable water on the south end of the lake yet. We are getting a lot of Northern there. The fish are hitting anything from Silver Minnows to spinner baits to small bucktails. Theres a good foot of water over the tops of most of the weeds and some nice patches of cabbage and other native weeds. Smallmouth and Largemouth are crusing the shallow water hanging around weeds and wood. Surface baits are working good in the evening or early morning and tubes or jigs with twintails are good Bass producers most of the day. Black, Green Pumpkin, and Crayfish colors have been very popular with the Smallies. The Walleye action is still slow with most fish being taken in the evening and early morning. Most of the walleye are falling to Leech or Nightcrawlers. Musky action has been ok, we are seeing a lot of big fish but they seem to be a little sluggish yet. My top producing bait so far this year has been a 6" Bobbie Bait in Ross's Sport Shops "Summer Pumpkin" custom color. Good luck on the water and stop in the store and say HI when your in our area.
