Thread: Big Bluegills

    Default Big Bluegills

I got out with Kerry Nichols yesterday. We were looking for some musky action, however the carp were in the shallows and I truly believe they were disrupting these locations. Noticing water temps were in the mid 70’s we switched tactics and hit some shallow flats in hopes to find some bluegills. We were using your basic set up, bobber, sinker and hook, tipped with a night crawler. Casting out and letting it sit or slowly bring it in. When a bluegill can just about double your walleye rods over you know you have a true “bull” of a bluegill. These bluegills ranged in size of 9 to 10 ½ inches.
Water temps were at 76 degrees.
