Memorial Weekend

Back at the cabin this weekend. More boat traffic than earlier in the week. Still managed some nice crappies, quite a few catfish, a few short walleye and a couple sheephead. We sure couldn't ask for a better weekend. Good weather good fishing and a safe trip. Good luck to all.

Glad you had a good weekend--we did too.
How were you fishing? Bait, cranks, ???

We pleasure-boated on Sunday and didn't fish until Monday. We tried minnows and drifted with the wind. That didn't produce much except for one decent catfish. We got a couple eyes and a couple good sized white bass by trolling. All were released.

I didn't find the fishing that easy. I could locate fish and drop our baits into the school, but we could jig until our faces turned blue and just couldn't get them to bite.

We were on Petenwell jigging with crappie minnows. Generally fishing 10 to 15 feet. We didn't do any trolling, but hope to get to that next week
