    Default Panfish Report 05/20/10

My wife Kris and I went out to a local lake today and had a fantastic day of fishing! Kris caught a personal best ten inch bluegill and I landed a fourteen inch crappie. We caught a ton of real nice bluegill, sunfish, rock bass and crappies, plus a few bonus largemouths as well. I actually hooked and lost a five pound class bucketmouth that broke me off in some bulrushes!

We kept enough fish for a nice meal and we also had a loon swim right under our boat in five feet of water and I got it all on video. The hot lure was a Berkley Power Bait Micro Nymph in a color called "Toad" attached to a 1/32 ounce jig head, rigged with six pound Vicious Ultimate mono and a slip bobber. We didn't even need live bait at all! Great day on the water with my sweetheart and the vast variety of fish up here is simply mind boggling!
