Hi everyone,

So far the walleyes have been hard to pattern. One day deep, the next in the weeds, so I have had to be versitile in my approach. The bait that has caught the most walleyes is the standby jig minnow combo. Leeches have also accounted for a few. I look for the leech bite to pick up soon. Mainly because as it gets warmer, it is to hard to keep minnows alive for very long.

When the water temps get into the sixties, the walleyes seem to prefer the leeches anyway. The water temps right now are starting to push 60, and the bug hatches are starting to heat up. That will make it more difficult to pattern the walleyes, but not impossible.

Have also been using crank baits in the weeds, and the northerns have been crushing them. Have been catching a mixed bag from large moth to small mouth bass and some perch. They are all in the weeds.
