The guy I had out ended up getting third with a 27 1/4 inch walleye. We caught that in the first couple hours of the tourney. That was before the snow and rain really got going good. Second was a 27 1/2 incher and first was a 27 3/4 incher. The guy that won deserved to win. He caught some other nice fish to go with that big one. He was fishing out deep as were most people. We stuck with our shallow water bite early in the tourney and then went out deep at the end of day one and the rest of the weekend. Horrible and I mean horrible weather. Rain sleet and snow for day one. Cold for day two and beautiful for day three.

I'm not sure what the DNR is thinking by saying there are no small walleye in the Chip because that's all anyone caught and lots of them. Plenty of 8 to 12 inch fish being caught in the tourney. That's good to see though. Tells you that the last couple years there was some natural recruitment.
