Thread: Good Opener

    Default Good Opener

It was a pretty good start to the season. Toughest part was boat control with the heavy winds we had. The good news was that it was a friendly, fairly warm southerly wind which seemed to really activate the walleyes. The bites we got were mostly quite aggressive, no wondering if it was a weed or a fish.

Jigs and fatheads fished in and around weeds in the 8' to 12' depth range caught all of our walleye.

Pike, bass and crappie were also in the vicinity of these weeds which made for nice mixed bag action.

On a serious note, I want ot mention that one of our areas best known guides, "Tadpole" Tommy Zinda, is in a tough, tough battle with cancer. I'm sure that many of you who read this report know him. Please say a little prayer for him.
