    Default John Fisher Tournament

The tournament weekend was typical for April. Partly cloudy skies Saturday and Sunday morning, with thunderstorms in the afternoon on Sunday. There were six (6) legal fish caught on Saturday, and none on Sunday. The interesting part is "3" were huskies. The breakdown is as follows:

    1st Place - Thurman Adair caught 39" and 43"
    2nd Place - Ron Fisher caught 43"
    3rd Place - Kevin Short caught 42"
    4th Place - Tim Graber caught 31.75"
    5th Place - Mark Steinert caught 31"

My thanks to all who braved the elements. Our next event is at Alum Creek,
Saturday and Sunday, June 5-6th. More on this later.

Great job getting it all together George. Congrats to Thurman on those 2 nice fish. You earned it. The weather stunk but we all made the best of it.

    Default Thurmans 39"

The "Thurmanator" had the Hot hand for sure. I will attach a picture of his
39"er which I witnessed. Good job Thurman.
Thanks to George Smart for putting on a good tournament. Hot coffee and donuts sure hit the spot each morning.

    Default Rons 43'er

Here is a picture of Ron Fishers 43" fish. This fish is really fat. And notice the yellow color of the fish.

I am surprised at how nice and clean and heavy your fish are at Clearfork right now. Have they not spawned yet? I'm catching quite a few at Leesville right now but they are really beat up from the spawn. We are definitely post-spawn right now.

    Default Thurmans 43"

Here is a picture of Thurmans 43"er.

Bob, I don't think they were done spawning yet. While casting a weedbed, one of the guys saw a large mid 40s fish with a mid 30s fish side by side. So I would say some were still trying to spawn.

    Default Spawning

I might be the guy Mark's referring to. I saw three or four different fish multiple times over in the same weedbed. I got sucked in by a couple lazy follows but they were definitely in spawn mode. The biggest one was hunkered down with another good sized fish.
