Thanks for the warning...10hp is the thing down here in Illinois...I wish it were a 10 mph limit, cuz using the trolling motor to get around burns the battery so fast.
We were successful at Shabbona 2 weekends ago getting a 40.25"
They also have the 10hp limit. it just doesn't feel the same fishing down here as it does up north...

many lakes to fish in Illinois

Good web page from someone that did his homework. Must not be from my class!! Just letting you know what Illinois has to offer.
P.S. I have fished Evergreen, Storey(once), McMaster, Spring, and Fox Lake Chain. For size, I would head to McMaster. The 54" er tells it all. Also, Evergreen is hard to fish with all the baitfish swimming around. For numbers, I would head to Spring in the spring. reports of 10-20 fish a day have been surfacing. Even a 40 fish day was reported this year. Most fish are 25-35inches out there. I did catch a 45.5" out there though. The weeds take over in May though.
good luck to all
