Unhappy Green gene project headed down river

Lake Mingo, and the green gene project there, might be a waist of time and money. Several reports from fisherman who fish for Middle Fork River , for smallmouth bass, have been catching muskies below the spillway from Mingo.
One Angler, spotted several larger fish,in some of the deeper wholes, where they use to catch smallies. Other fisherman have caught muskies as small as 15-18 inches, which have become a local feast for the Coon Family.....
A rescue might be to late, as the Middle Fork will rise ,with the up and coming rain season. Maybe the IMA, should step in and provide Dave Whal, with a barrier net for the dam, before they stock Mingo, with more fingerlings.

All man made lakes should have a barrier to keep the fish in. This is just not isolated to mingo. Getting a decent barrier put in anywhere is all but impossible these days. I am off to the IMA meeting shortly and will bring it up but we can't get a barrier in evergreen or a decent one put in at shabbona so don't hold your breath on mingo for too long. Why the state would not push for it is beyond me. Those are not just fish (of all species) going over where they were intended to be but that's state dollars being lost for the most part too bad nobody can put a $ figure on it.
