Default How things look the last few days...

Just uploaded some pictures taken around the TFF this weekend.

Haven't had a chance to map or caption them yet, but the album starts with a cloudy Friday along my shoreline. Then there are some Saturday morning shots at Springstead Landing and the Manitowish River at the Hwy. 51/47 intersection. On my way back from the U.P. that evening, I stopped at the Falls, then drove around Popkos Circle, stopping wherever I had a view of the TFF. It finishes off with more photos taken around Springstead Landing this morning.

    Default Nice update

    Hi Blue,

Nice of you to post those photos. I've been wondering how it looked up there and if the ice might be going out sooner than usual, and that appears to be the case. Makes one wonder what the earliest ice out on record is.

    Anyone have a clue?

    Default Updates

I added an album of shots taken in the U.P. after skiing Saturday, and mapped and captioned most of the TFF shots.

    Default Earliest Ice Out

We were just talking to Kat at Dear Lodge last Saturday about the earliest ice out. She said that she had been told it was April 7th.

    Cool Ice Out

Just was looking at the latest satellite photos for Lk Superior & MI regions. Green Bay has broken up, Bay De Noc is almost out, Little Bay De Noc is wide open. Almost every lake in the Lower Penninsula is now ice free, and most of the lakes in the N. WI region are turning dark grey/blk. The east side of the TFF looks like its going fast. There's a underwater cam on the Wolf River...watched it today the Walleye are running! Will try to copy it here next.

Watched it for quite a while this afternoon. Some big fish went on by. You can actually tell the red horse from the walleye! Hope it works for you!
