This past weekend marked the last go around for tip up fishing as the gamefish season closed here in Wisconsin until May first. We fished a couple of lakes for pike Saturday and again on Sunday. Action was pretty good for getting a lot of flags, pike were numerous but not huge. All the fish we caught were in the 22 to 26 inch range, we let them all go back down the hole to be caught next year!

Without an option of walleye, pike or bass the rest of the ice season we'll focus on bluegills and crappies. Ice is in good shape as of right now, I hope to have good ice conditions for two weeks or so. This morning I went out for an hour at sun up, but couldn't get any nice sized 'gills to cooperate. We'll be at it again later.

Good luck,
