Well there is one weekend left. The game fish season will close this coming Sunday. We were out last Saturday. The weather was what I would have concidered to be very good. The temps were warm and fronts moving in. We set tip-ups in depths from 14 - 26 foot. I had one hole that was in 19 feet and seemed to be a hot spot. I setup on a small outcropping of a mid lake bar. We managed to pull 3 fish from that one hole alone. One smaller fish and 2 fish in the 22" class. All in all we iced several walleyes but the bite was relatively slow compared to normal. I look for the crappies to really pick up in the next couple weeks.
I am actually starting to get the boat rigged and ready to go. I am headed for a river trip to fish walleyes and saugers in 2 weeks. I look forward to this trip every year. The first open water excursion for the year always feels good. I will post my results when I return.

Good fishing,
