    Default spring lake north

Thinking about fishing the spring lake north tourney. Is the 25 hp limit to use your gas motor or an absolute limit? i.e can i launch my 90 horse and strictly use my trolling motor? I've looked around but haven't found an answer. Thanks.

    Default Good to go

It's a HP limit, not a MPH limit. Using trolling motors to get around is a pretty common way to fish.

yep, it's the rule, albeit stupid, you can power load and launch with your big motor. Funny to see the guys in the johnboats fly up and down the narrow north section, what a pointless hp limit. make it no wake and be done with it!

Got it. I didn't want to enter the tourney only to find out I couldn't launch the boat. There are some lakes in Missouri that you can't launch your boat on if your engine's too big. The most notable example is Fellows Lake. That lake should put out some good fish, but you can't launch your boat if it's over 40 hp. I'll never understand that rule.
