Ice conditions are still improving, and travel with ATV's and Snowmobiles is in full swing. I would not say that trucks and cars are a good idea yet, athough there are a few people driving on the some lakes. Caution is advised.
Walleye have been biting on the mud flats in 20-35 feet of water. Tipups with small-med Shiners or Suckers have been working good. Jigging has also been alot of fun lately with many fish coming on jigging raps and spoons tipped with minnow heads. Best bite has been in the afternoon into the evening.
Northern Pike have been biting all day long with most fish coming from 15 feet of water or less in and around weeds. Large Shiners on tipups have been working well.
Panfish have been holding in deeper water on many lakes in the area. 20-35 feet has been what I have been finding. Bluegills and Crappies have been suspending anywhere in the water column from just under the ice to a foot off the bottom. Waxies and small minnows have been producing best. Perch have been using the same areas, but have been holding tight to the bottom. Wigglers, Waxies, and small minnows have all been working to get these bottom huggers to bite. Savy anglers will be drilling a lot of holes and using their electronics to track down these fish.
Good luck to all.
