The Rock 1/16 & 1/17

Fished Castle Rock dawn to dusk over the weekend. Stayed in one area about 300 square feet. Ended up with 1 1/2 five gallon bucket full of crappie, white bass, and perch about 50 fish between 3 people. Also let go about 10 short walleye, one cat, and 1-10 inch gill.

Was marking fish all the time in an area of channel edge between 20 and 27 feet. Most walleye caught in 20 foot area on tip up while other fish came in about 25 feet.

Baits varied from 10 minutes to next 10 minutes. I caught a lot of crappie on rattle reel next to hole I was jigging. I did not catch many fish jigging but they came on small spoons, plastics, jig and minnow, and jig and spike. Spoons fished plain, minnow head, spike, or gulp minnow head.

When bite really slowed fish seemed to like jig and plastic and had to jump holes to find takers.
