    Cool Ice and fish

    Hey-
I have a couple of question.
A number of us are heading up (From Minnesota) to do a little fishing Jan. 14th-17th. We'd like to take a 24ft. wheelhouse but are looking for a minimum of 18" of ice. I've seen the post from around the New Year "Snap Crackle Pop " I think it was...I don't want to be known as the idiot from out of town and I don't want to die... so could anyone tell me how the ice is now?
We've had 1 and 1/2 weeks of temperatures in the single digits to -25 degrees F so ice is being mad around here but I see you haven't been so lucky...your temps are staying in the high teens to low 20's.
We're just trying to figure out who's going to bringing which house.
In the past we've went off the access in Kipling but always used portables so this would be the area I'm asking about.

    Thanks

    Default Ice Thickness

Fished out from Kipling on Sun., We had 8-10" solid ice. Not much snow on the ice so it was kind of slick.

I have to say leave the wheel house on shore to be on the safe side.
