Frank - I am now sitting in my easy chair watching the CMA thinking about all the good times I had at Bay Store during 2009. Pictures will help me get through the winter and pass the time until next year.
Now that everyone has left camp we are waiting to hear about what kind of fall fishing you have had. We all know you found the time between painting, winterizing cabins, fixing boats, feeding deer etc. to drag a few Jakes around.
Ok!! It is about time for the first installment of the Frank Walsh end of the year newsletter.
Dick, Frank just had a one word reply a few days ago..... SLOBBOES whatever that means.
Since he's been pretty quite, I'm expecting something.....grand. Like the time he mixed all the paint colors in camp together and came up with the new color for the fish houses.
If he's not fishing but working, we could start a list of things that we think would be nice in camp. The wireless is nice, but there is always room for improvement without going too "city".
I'd like to see an underwater camera with controls for starters; off a nice rocky point somewhere. If that's too much to ask, how about off pornopoint then.
I do know that he has been putting new windows and doors in some of the ice fishing houses. They are getting so nice that we could spend the night in them and catch eel pout all night long.
What boat you using? Get yours back already, or trolling in the whaler? Could wackem and stackem in the whaler like the old days, take a black and white photo, you could be history!
See Ryan, I could almost be fishing at Franks on Thanksgiving I think it would be close. Let us know how it turns out Frank, if it was possiable to get out of your bay on turkey day. I am sure the north end of the lake will be wide open.
Darren
Not far fetched. Broke between 1/4" to about 3/4" of ice yesterday all the way to Young's Bay. All gone right now, but the water is ready to freeze with the next cold, calm night. Put the docks to bed yesterday afternoon.
As you can, pretty crappy looking day. This picture taken at 8:30 this morning. Pretty foggy and dismal.
Looking at the forecast, could be the end this week. Or for Darren's sake could fish instead of watching football on T-Day. At least I don't have to watch the Bears fold again.
Just add a bit of snow coming down to that picture, keep the fog and throw in a lite breeze and the 55+ club would have the super feed bag on. The perfect storm and maybe a 60 x 35 mega fish.
That's where you are wrong. Why waste a nice day eating and paying Family Homage, when you can be fishing?
To be honest, I'm kinda fished out. Fishing in this weather may be fun for a while, but I'm tired of it. Way too tough on the equipment. However, I have quite the plan for next season.
However, as Darren predicted, could be fishing on Turkey Day. Not a lick of ice.
