Back From Montana
I just got back late Wednesday from a mule deer hunt in Montana with Mitchell Schmitt and his family.
Mitchell is 16 years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia about (2) years ago. He requested this hunt with the Kippenberg Creek Kids and with the help of the Montana division of the Kippenberg Creek Kids and Dennis Barlog (the Montana Kippenberg Creek Kids Representative) we were able to put this hunt together for him.
I went along on this particular hunt to help assist Mitchell and his family along with Dennis Barlog in getting Mitchell his first crack at a mule deer.
When we arrived we found that we were very fortunate to have the help and assistance of several local ranchers that allowed us to hunt out on their land and with the assistance and knowledge of Justin Madsen we were able to put Mitchell on a very nice mule deer buck. To be honest with you we must have seen over 500 mule deer on the first day alone. Totally unbelievable!
After shooting the mule deer the next couple of days were spent with local Montana hunting guide Ben Holmen harvesting ducks, geese and a pheasants.
It was an awesome hunt with gorgeous scenery and a great experience for Mitchell.
A big hand goes out to the generous people of Montana that helped make this hunt possible and to the Kippenberg Creek Kids for putting thies hunt together for Mitchell.
