I was in the woods yesterday working on new deer stands at one of our leases and wow was ever impressed with the amount of new deer sign.

Lots of BIG rubs on trees up to 18 inches in diameter (not kidding either) also a lot of scrapes showing up along woodlots and field edges. This is definitely a sign of better things to come as the rutting activity increases later in the month.

Come November we should be into full blown big buck rutting behavior and there is going to be a lot of opportunities for hunters to take trophy deer. From the sign that I saw and the photos on our trail cameras there are some real monsters out there.
