Musky fishing is in high gear with lots of action by casting, jigging and trolling. Large cranks like Nils and Jakes are doing well casting and trolling. The Bondy bait, Tiger tubes and salt water jigs with a 6" sassy shad are working for the jiggers.

Bass have moved into the shallows where spinnerbaits, jerkbaits and cranks are tearing them up. Try fishing the river mouths are baitfish are headed to the mouths to spawn.

Walleye fishing in the western basin can ve very good for numbers and trophy fish as the school tight for winter. The islands and bays will hold fish, Breast Bay is a great spot during Oct-Dec.

Perch fishing on Lake Erie from Colchester to Leamington is going strong too. Anchoring with perch rigs and live minnows always seem to work well. You may have to move around a bit to find that school but once you do get ready as the action can be non stop.

I am headed to Lake Simcoe this wknd Sat Oct 24 for the BPS Simcoe Open bass tournament. Last yr 2008 myself and Dave Kennedy finished 9th with 22.06 with only 4 smallies and just missing big bass. We are looking to better that result in '09.
