    hey jeff...yes, fish will hit a slow moving mag dawg. however, if a musky follows it in, it's in your best interest to speed the lure up when going around in the 8. yes..they will hit on the 8 if it's moving slow..but not like they do when you speed it up

    There really isn't a right or wrong way to work a dawg, that's one of great things about the bait.

    Let the fish tell you how they want the bait. Have one guy doing the normal pull, reel and popping of a the dawg and have the other guy slowly straight retrieve it with maybe a quick jerk or pop about 3/4 the way back as a triggering point.

    Also, keep your figure 8's pretty fast. Keep the bait IN FRONT OF THE FISH, once you get to far ahead of the fish...game over. Keep the bait out wide, with quick turns but most importantly, keep the bait visible to the fish, don't get to far ahead of it.
