    Question Fall Walleye Outlook

I've been coming to the Chip in the middle of Oct. for about the past 30 yrs for walleye but the last couple of years things seem to have really tapered off for some reason. Even after the "turnover" the walleyes seem to be scarce.

Is anyone else seeing the same trend and if so whats the concensus on causes?

I typically fish the deeper holes on the West side with leadheads and minnows. Should I be making a pattern change of where and how I fish? I also seem to be catching a larger number of largemouth bass than normal.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks ........ John

I know a group of guys on the east side has been using really big minnows instead of the normal walleye minnows and have been getting fish late in the year in the deeper holes. Maybe try that. Just a guess.
