I was too late to hook up with Tanner, so I pressed on alone Monday through Wednesday on the East Fork of the Chip. With the warm weather the water temps started at around 70 in the mornings to mid 70s in the afternoon. That was warmer than when I was up in July!

The early morning bite was the best, followed by the late evening bite. Middays were dead. I managed to boat 5 - 34", 35", 35", 38" and 38" all on topwater baits - 2 on boogerman buzz baits and 3 on my trusty green jackpot (both 38s).

The weeds were dead in some spots, but healthy in others and the fish were obviously relating to the healthy weeds and were all very shallow (less than 4 feet). I also had a tiger eat the bass I was attempting to catch for my lunch, I tried to get a picture, but I could not control the fish with 6 pound test.

One more trip in October! Good luck all!
