    Default Walleyes Walleyes Walleyes....

We had a great trip this week at Leech Lake. We were there from August 1st – August 8th. It took us a few days to narrow in on where the walleyes were but when we found then boy did we find them. We caught 71 total walleye on our trip. We were more successful fishing at night. We would start around 6pm and go till midnight. We had the most success fishing in areas north of Goose Island in the bay there between 3 points. We trolled from the north point of goose to Hardwood Point and Little Hardwood Point. We only used No. 7 and No. 5 Jointed Rapala Shad Raps. There were a few colors that worked for us. I will let you have the fun figuring that out. This was our 3rd year fishing Leech Lake and this was our best year for walleyes. You catch a lot of Walleyes in the slot but it is a blast catching them. We stayed at Acorn Hill Resort for the 3rd straight year. We can’t wait for next year. Good Luck to all late season trophy’s.

    Default Good Job!

What a trip, thanks for the great info. Leech walleye fishing is in a word fantastic. You did it right, cover water with good baits and at low light hours.
    Congratulation. Great pictures too.
