    Default August Walker Bay

    Hi,

Im staying with relatives on the east side of walker bay from august 12-17. I have access to a kayak rigged for fishing/trolling and am wondering if there are any decent morning or evening spots for walleye near by. Im also wondering what the nearest access points to areas like Sand point and other evening walleye spots are. Thanks

    Default Walleyes

Cedar Point and the entire break line that runs south can and do hold walleyes. It would be helpful to have a sonar unit to locate the break line. The fish seem to hold on or at the bottom of the break. Sand Point at dusk is a very good area. You can also troll shad raps in 7 to 10 feet of water in the evening.

Are you talking about the break off of cedar point that drops into about 55 ft?

Yes, the fish stage on the break anywhere from the top at 10-12 feet down the break. Boat control is key to stay on fish especially if windy.
