Walleye fishing continues to remain very strong throughout the area. Walleyes are being taken in a variety of ways and sizes in northern Wisconsin. On the chains the fish have remained in the weeds and small jigs and minnows have worked the best with some leeches coming into play. While fishing for walleyes in the weeds expect crappies, perch and northern pike to also pay attention to these presentations. Also look to the bigger deep clear lakes as those to offer good fishing this time of year. Fish tend to be holding on the very outside edges of the weeds and are biting leeches very well. These fish seem to be very active the first few hours in the moring and the last few in the evening. Fish have been caught in the mid and upper 20's with nice eating fish as well. Good luck and I will report back as things change, but this pattern is going to last a while as long as the weather can remain somewhat consistant.
