Rain, Rain, Rain, Wind, Wind, Wind . Last Tuesday we recieved another 2" of rain and last night Sunday 7/27 about 1" more. Winds were better from last report but still lots on passing fronts with North, NorthWest winds making fishing difficult. Air temps have been below average.

Lake Conditions : Water Temps rising 68 -70 degrees, Clearity: getting better 2-3 feet except eastern shore of mid lake where Algea bloom can be pea soup. Bug hatch....nothing signifant, small midge hatch ongoing.

Normally we experience high air temps, stable weather patterns and very good fishing. Bite is still off and lake has not recovered from all the fronts/storms and high winds of the past couple weeks. BUT the lake is improving!

Fished last Wednesday with Fritz P. of Buffalo, Mark K. Minnetonka, Mn. and Lee K,Duluth, Mn. We had very fishable conditions..calm winds, blue skies high air temps. The bite was slow for most of the day, but there were promising signs that the lake was getting back to normal. Fritz caught a beautifull 5 pound 1 oz beauty and had a couple more pigs on,,,the larger fish were beginning to appear but were not real aggressive taking the bait. Mark and Lee caught some nice fish as well. Most of our action took place in clearer water away from the algea bloom. The top water bite didnt pan out as most fish were caught on tubes and plastic stick baits.

Saturday fished with Jim B and Ryan M. Mother nature brought high winds and cool temps....that forced us to fish a smaller nearby lake for largemouths. Caught several nice lmb and a bunch of northern pike on War Eagle spinnerbaits....fun day on the water!
