Most of the lakes are approaching summer fishing temperatures. Winds will push down the temperatures on Kakagi (Crow) Lake from mid-60's to low-60's. Lake of the Woods and smaller area lakes running 5-10 degrees warmer then Kakagi.

Lake Trout started the week with a good bite, but slowed the last few days. Lakers are still scattered but more and more keep starting to show in the deep summer holes. A couple in the 10 pound range were caught and released.

Bass are still being seen and caught on the logs on Kakagi. Very few bass coming from the rocks, so far. No Mayfly hatch on the main lake - just a few spots showing Mayflies in shallow warm back bays. The Mayflies should help to bring the bass up to surface feeding on the rocks on Kakagi. Jessie lake was the hot bass bite for the week with 282 caught on top water in a 5 hour fishing adventure. Cedartree Lake bass action didn't have the numbers but better average size with some 2-4 pound smallies caught.

Largemouth Bass action was fun this past week with one approaching 5 lbs caught on LOTW Whitefish Bay - many smaller but fun sized Largemouth from Whitefish Bay.

Muskies a few small Kakagi Muskies have been a surprise while fishing bass/pike -29,31,32 & 33. A few guests will be fishing Muskies on some of the days in the coming week - lost a few good ones already. Hearing bait shop rumors that Muskies are moving very well on LOTW the past few days.

The horrible Walleye fishing problems from Cedartree lake was finally broken on Sunday. Most of the week the guests had to release nearly all of the Walleye while working to catch fish below the slot size. Sunday one group managed to find the good mix of fish with both smaller and large Walleyes. Cedartree was a little slow starting this year, but has been a constant source of smiles recently.

Northern Pike action was very entertaining this past week with a few of those bigger 30" - 38" Pike caught on South Narrow, Jessie, Cedartree, LOTW and Kakagi.

Dock report is live bait for best catches on perch & rock bass along with the occasional Muskie sighting from the young ones fishing the docks! Expect to see more swimming action soon!
