Saturday greeted my 2 clients and I to fairly strong north winds and cooler temps along with a slow bite to start the day off. Doing just a half day trip, we worked various depths and structures with Reeves weedless jigs tipped with leeches or half crawler, we managed to boat a few small pike along with 4 throwback eyes, mostly from the coontail patches, we did pick up 1 keeper eye in 7 feet of water over some submerged stumps. Our next and last move was to a 4 foot deep shelf with scattered rock piles and found some real good action. Anchoring just off the deep edge of this shelf, we managed to boat 3 more nice keeper eyes along with several hit and misses. We also boated 6 big smallies on this spot by vertical jigging just off the bottom at the base of the shelf.

Back out on Monday, will keep you posted.
